Oh Boy!

Why haven't we posted over the last two days? Well, we've been busy....with the press!

We went to DNA with our predictions before the first world cup match and they gladly obliged.
And now the thing is all over the place! Indiatimes, Hindustan times, The Statesman...you name it. And whats more, our team made a brief appearance on ESPN's Sports Center show on 14th March too!

So what caught the media's attention?
Being bang on for both the captains. Though others weren't quite right. And we predicted a Windies victory too (though they did win comfortably).

Talking business, we will be ready with next set of predictions by this evening.

Here are some of the links which talk about our stuff:

Well firstly as some one who works for the media, in this day and age every column centimeter of space or second of airtime that can be filled with something will get a mention.

Fortunately for you west indies won..
The point will only be proven if there is a prediction for every match and then a trend of accurate predictions emerges or scientific reasons as to why some predictions cannot be made !
Let this be an educative exercise for the industry and not yet another chapter on statistical lies

Hi Harsh,
This is definitely not a pack of lies. There is a proper statistical method to the predictions. The scorewizard guys DO NOT claim that their forecasts are 100% accurate and have mentioned this fact on the blog too. You can check the past posts where they have got some scores wrong too.
Further, the predictions depend on the philosophy "Past performance is the best indicator of future performance" and hence the collective past performances of the teams involved as well as individual performances of the players have been analyzed to predict the result.
Since some of the teams (like Canada, Ireland, Kenya, Scotland, etc.) are new to international cricket, data available for these teams is insufficient to make any predictions for matches involving these teams. The scorewizard guys could have predicted a comfortable victory for AUS against Scotland without using any model, just as everyone else could easily do, but they refrained from it, because there is not enough data available for Scotland to make any reasonable predictions. I hope that answers your doubts.

Hi Ramakant,
I am sure we will have the predictions of the AUS vs. SA match well before the start of the match, so that the predictive power of the model can be validated. Meanwhile, the predictions for the ENG vs. NZ match should be on this blog before the start of the match
